Oakton Course Examines Sixties Cinema

Learn how films of the 1960s reflected - and influenced - U.S. culture, through an Emeritus Program course offered by Oakton Community College.

Counterculture Clash - American Film in the 1960s (HUM S32-61) explores the stylistic cinematic innovations that were introduced during this tumultuous decade and how those revolutions paved the way for future films. Mike Robins, an independent filmmaker and film instructor at Facets Multimedia, will show and discuss movies including "Bonnie and Clyde," "Night of the Living Dead," and "Easy Rider."

The six-week course meets from 7 to 10 p.m. starting Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie. The course fee is $80.
