by the Emeritus Program at Oakton Community College. All featured
courses meet at Oakton's Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave.,
Skokie.
Learning to Draw Portraits (ART C63-71) enhances students'
portrait drawing skills using photographs and live models. Seven-week
course meets 9 a.m. - 12 p.m., Mondays, starting April 11. Course
fee is $100.
RUR:
What Makes Us Human? (PHL E56-71) examines the classic science
fiction work by Czech author Karel Capek, RUR (Rossum's Universal
Robots). This prophetic work envisions a world of human-like robots
and explores man's relationship with machines. Seven-week course meets
10 a.m. - 12 p.m., Thursdays, starting April 14. Course fee is $85.
Jewish
History and Culture in Documentary Films (HUM B19-71) provides
an opportunity to view and discuss documentaries about Jewish society.
Six-week course meets 1 - 3 p.m., Mondays, starting April 18. Course
fee is $80.
Oakton's
Emeritus Program offers credit and noncredit courses, lectures, seminars,
and tours, while providing a chance to share learning experiences
with peers age 50 and over.
