Oakton Emeritus Courses Strengthen Mind and Body

Strengthen body and mind by enrolling in courses offered this spring by the Emeritus Program at Oakton Community College. All featured courses meet at Oakton's Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie.

Tai Chi (PED E30-71) demonstrates an ancient form of exercise to reduce stress. Five-week course meets 12 - 1 p.m., Mondays, starting Jan. 10. Course fee is $72.

Advanced Tai Chi (PED E31-71) further challenges students to enhance their level of awareness and relaxation. Eleven-week course meets 1:15 - 2:15 p.m., Mondays, starting Jan. 10. Course fee is $138.

Taste of French Opera (MUS S74-71) spotlights classic operas including Carmen, Faust, and Menon. Four-week course meets Thursdays, 1 - 2:30 p.m., starting Jan. 13. Course fee is $50.

Oakton's Emeritus Program offers credit and noncredit courses, lectures, seminars, and tours, while providing a chance to share learning experiences with peers age 50 and over.
