Register
now at Oakton Community College for spring semester ESL courses designed
to sharpen skills for intermediate-level students whose native language
is not English. These fee-based classes are designed to supplement
- not replace - the free ESL classes administered by the Illinois
Community College Board.
Intensive
ESL (COM A19) helps students develop extensive language skills
and cultural awareness. Starting April 4, this nine-week class meets
12:20 - 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, at Oakton's Ray Hartstein
Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie. Course fee is $200. In-person
pre-registration is required.
TOEFL
Prep Seminar (COM A45) helps non-native speakers of English prepare
for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) required by
colleges and professional accrediting agencies. Three different sections
of this nine-week class begin in April at the Ray Hartstein Campus:
Saturday classes meet 9 a.m. - 12 p.m., starting April 2; Monday classes
meet 9 a.m. - 12 p.m., starting April 4; and Tuesday classes meet
6:45 - 9:45 p.m., starting April 5. The course fee for each section
is $70.
Other
