Management and Facilities Engineering programs. Register now for spring

16; featured courses are 16 weeks long.
Introduction to Facilities Management and Engineering
(FME 101) provides an overview of practices and skills needed to develop
competency in facilities management and engineering.
Blueprint
Reading for Building Trades (FME 107) concentrates on the
language of architectural and structural drawings. Topics include
specifications and building codes; HVAC; plumbing; electrical systems;
and free-hand mechanical sketching.
Energy
Management and DDC Controls (FME 240) offers a detailed examination
of energy management. Course focuses on building automation systems
for energy management using DDC controls for HVAC, fire, and security
systems.
Oakton's
program provides a solution for facilities managers who want to move
their staff toward greater competency. Oakton's program also integrates
course work with internship opportunities at The Tribune Company,
S & C Electric, Siemens Building Technologies, Air Products Equipment
Company, and Baxter. These companies team with Oakton to give students
"hands on" experience in acquiring the skills needed for a degree
or certificate.
