Greece, land of majestic monuments and priceless treasures from the past, is a popular destination of Oakton Community College's travel/study program. Tours are scheduled June 27 - July 8 and Sept. 26 - Oct. 7, 2002.
Your journey begins in Athens, where you'll visit the Parthenon and wander through the Acropolis Museum with its amazing collection of archaic and classical Greek sculpture. In Delphi, you'll visit the Archaeological Museum with its collection of ancient statuary.
Other stops on your memorable journey include Olympia - the most holy place in ancient Greece and the site of the first Olympic Games - and Sparta, Mycenae, and Corinth. Along the way, you'll sample native dishes at specially arranged meals. A visit to a private home will give you a glimpse into the everyday lives and customs of the people. An optional trip extension to cruise the Aegean Isles, with stops that include Mykonos, Santorini and Rhodes, also is offered.
