Earn New Human Resource Certificate at Oakton

Designed for experienced human resource professionals, as well as those interested in a possible career in HR, Oakton Community College introduces a new Human Resource Specialist Certificate.

This flexible certificate program allows participants to customize course work to meet their current needs. All featured courses meet at Oakton's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road.

Conflict Management (MGT 222-050) provides positive conflict management methods, including active listening and communication skills. Seven-week course meets 6 - 10 p.m., Mondays, starting Nov 1.

Cases in HR Management (MGT 290-050) examines current HR issues facing companies. Seven-week course meets 6 - 10 p.m., Wednesdays, starting Nov. 3.

Preparation for the National Certification Exam for PHR and SPHR Credentials (MGT 280-0W1) provides a review of materials to prepare for the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) credential exam. Five-session course meets 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, beginning Friday, Oct 29.

HR for Small Businesses (MGT 290-051) tackles the issues and problems facing small businesses. Four-week course meets 6 - 10 p.m., Thursdays, starting Nov. 4.
