A series of accelerated management courses geared
to busy professionals is available this fall at Oakton Community College.
The Career Action Series offers flexible courses that meet evenings
and weekends, lasting a maximum of eight weeks. Courses may be applied
to a degree or certificate at Oakton.
Personal Finance (BUS 110-051) provides an overview
of personal and family financial planning. Topics include consumer
credit, tax planning, and retirement and estate planning. Seven-week
course meets 6:30 – 10:15 p.m., Tuesday, starting Oct. 28, at
Oakton’s Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave.
Effective Organizational Leadership (MGT 225-050)
explores the impact of effective leadership on employee motivation
and success, and personal growth and development. Seven-week course
meets 6:30 –10:15 p.m., Wednesday, starting Oct. 29, at Oakton’s
Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road.
Green Policy, Law, and Government Regulations (MGT
127-050) presents evolving “green” legal and regulatory
issues, and their impact on business, the public sector, and society.
Seven-week course meets 6:30 – 10:15 p.m., Tuesday, starting
Nov. 4, at Oakton’s Des Plaines campus.
Other available management courses include: Supervisory Development
(MGT 140-050), Internet Marketing (MKT 265-050), and Operations and
Supply Chain Management (MGT 155-050).
