A series of accelerated management courses geared
to busy professionals is available this fall at Oakton Community College.
The Career Action Series offers flexible courses that meet evenings
and weekends for a maximum of eight weeks. Credits may be applied
to an Oakton degree or certificate.
Fundamentals of Supervision (MGT 101-050) examines
the responsibilities of and techniques used by a supervisor. Seven-week
course meets 6:30 –10:15 p.m, Thursday, starting Aug. 28, at
Oakton’s Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road.
Managing Effective Teams (MGT 220-050) presents theories
and practical tools to become a more productive team member and leader.
Seven-week course meets 6:30
–10 p.m., Thursday, starting Sept. 4, at Oakton’s Des
Plaines campus.
Supervisory Development (MGT 140-050) focuses on
the training and development of supervisors. Eight-week course meets
6:30 – 10:15 p.m., Thursday, starting Oct. 23, at Oakton’s
Des Plaines campus.
Other available management courses in the series include: Small
Business Management (MGT 160-050), Training and Development
(MGT 170-050), and Effective Organizational Leadership
(MGT 225-050).
