Calculating
performances are promised as the Performing Arts at Oakton presents
The Adding Machine, Oct. 25 - 28, and Nov.

Road, Des Plaines.
The
Adding Machine details the life - and afterlife - of Zero, who
kills his boss after being fired. Written by Elmer Rice in 1923, The
Adding Machine is a cult drama that foreshadows the dehumanizing
effects of a greedy techno-culture.

2; 8 p.m., Saturdays, Oct. 27 and Nov. 3; 2 p.m., Sundays, Oct. 28
and Nov. 4; and 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1. Tickets are $12; $10
for students and seniors; and $6 for groups of 15 or more.
A
$5 preview performance will be staged at 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 25;
a post-show discussion will be held after the Sunday, Nov. 4 performance.
