Alliance for Lifelong Learning Adds Storytelling for Leaders to Course List


Exploring the types of stories that exist within organizations and how to interpret them is the focus of a new business course offered by Oakton's Alliance for Lifelong Learning (ALL).

Storytelling for Leaders (COM E98-01, Touch-Tone 05383) examines ways to communicate, inform, motivate and inspire by using storytelling as a powerful leadership practice in the workplace. This six-week class meets from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesdays, beginning Oct. 3, at Niles North High School, 9800 Lawler, Skokie. Fee is $108.

Those who have registered for Oakton or ALL classes within the last five years and have a Social Security number on file may register by using the Touch-Tone system at (847) 635-1616. Registrations are also accepted by fax at (847) 635-1448 and in person in Room 1420 at the Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Rd., and Room A120 at the Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie. Touch-Tone and fax registrations require payment using a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover).

Other ALL business courses offered this fall include Successful Money Management (FIN E01), Financial Strategies for Successful Retirement (FIN E02), Accounting I (BUS A54), Starting a Small Business (BUS A19), Protecting Your Creativity (BUS S29), Back-to-Basics Business Writing (COM E37) and Proofreading/Copy Editing (COM E67).
