With
the start of the fall 2005 semester, Brad Wooten is the new
dean of social sciences and business, and Gregory James is
the new dean of students at Oakton Community College, officials announced.
Wooten
joins Oakton from Joliet Junior College, where he was an associate
dean of community services, and Triton College, where he was associate
dean of business and technology. Wooten holds a bachelor's degree
in business administration from Augustana College and a MBA from Northwestern
University's Kellogg School of Management. He is currently working
on his doctorate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Before
joining Oakton, James spent five years as dean of student services
at Springfield Technical Community College, Springfield, Massachusetts.
He previously served as dean of students for Central State University,
Wilberforce, Ohio, and was a professor in the counseling department
and also a student retention coordinator at North Harris College in
Houston. James has a doctorate degree from Grambling State University.
He earned both his master's and bachelor's degrees from Southern Illinois
University at Carbondale.
Oakton
Community College offers degree and certificate programs for students
preparing to earn a bachelor's degree at a four-year college or university,
as well as those seeking employment in a variety of careers. Oakton
is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of
the North Central Association, Illinois Community College Board and
American Association of Community Colleges.
