National
Alcohol Awareness Week will be observed at Oakton Community
College, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines, April 7 - 10. A variety of
free activities are planned to raise awareness of alcohol and its effects.

by Oakton Health Services, National Alcohol Awareness Week will feature
free screenings using a specially designed quiz to determine alcohol
dependence. Participants with a high score showing them to be at risk
will be referred to a counselor, and each person who completes the quiz
will be entered in a drawing to win a free digital breathalyzer device.
The
Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists (AAIM), a Schaumburg-based advocacy
group, will discuss the hazards of drinking and driving at 12:30 p.m.,
Tuesday, April 8.
