American English Tops May 17 Scholarship Benefit
Enjoy a "fab" evening to benefit student scholarships, Saturday, May 17, when celebrated Beatles tribute band American English hits the stage at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines. The 8 p.m. benefit for Oakton's Educational Foundation starts with a welcome reception at 7 p.m.
American English entertains audiences "across the universe" through its faithful recreations of songs from the Beatles' entire career. The tribute band has headlined International Beatle Week in Liverpool and performed at a George Harrison tribute in Chicago.
The evening also features former WLS-AM disc jockey Clark Weber, a Chicago radio personality since 1961.
Tickets to this special fundraiser are $50, with proceeds supporting scholarships and innovative academic programs. Groovy '60s attire is encouraged. This event is partially funded by lead sponsor Lawson Products, along with Edens Bank and MetLife Bank, N.A.
