EXPLORE ANCIENT EGYPT WITH OAKTON'S EMERITUS PROGRAM


This spring, Oakton Community College's Emeritus Program offers two classes on ancient Egyptian civilization. The seminars meet at the Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie.

Ancient Egyptian Land Ownership (HIS E72-71, Touch-Tone 07967) examines the economy that resulted from the methods of land distribution among pharaohs, nobles, priests, and soldiers. The class meets from 2:30 - 4 p.m. on six Tuesdays, beginning April 2. The fee for this course is $80.

Ancient Egyptian Women (HIS E73-71, Touch-Tone 07969) explores the unique role of women in the ancient society. Frank Yurko, a professor at the University of Chicago, will lead the discussion. The class meets from 2:30 - 4 p.m. on four Thursdays, beginning April 4. The fee for this course is $60.
