Rivers of crystalline ice, colonies of penguins, and icebergs the size of city blocks are just some of Antarctica's natural wonders to be experienced on an Oakton Community College travel/study tour. Five trips are scheduled for 2003: Jan. 17 - 27, Jan. 27 - Feb. 8, Feb. 8 - 26, Feb. 26 - March 7, and March 7 - 17.Travelers will arrive at the "last continent" by way of the Drake Passage on a 386-foot vessel. Whale watching, educational lectures, visits to research stations, and landings at several penguin rookeries among the exciting planned activities. Several tours also feature camping and kayaking excursions.
