in spring 2008 art classes offered at Oakton Community College. Featured
16-week courses meet Monday and Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. - 12:10 p.m.,
starting Jan. 14, at Oakton's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road.
Registration for spring semester courses at Oakton begins Tuesday,
Nov. 13.
Life
Drawing I (ART 243) explores the structure and expressive
potential of the human form. Class emphasizes drawing from a model
using various media. Prerequisite includes successful completion of
Drawing II (ART 231) or consent of instructor or department chair.
Life
Drawing II (ART 253) further develops structural and compositional
skills from Life Drawing I. Prerequisite includes successful completion
of Life Drawing I or consent of instructor or department chair.
The
instructor for both classes is Davida Schulman, an accomplished artist
who works with acrylics, oils, watercolor, and intaglio printmaking.
Schulman has been featured in American Artist, and her exhibition,
Imperfect Beauty, runs Nov. 15 - Dec. 15 at the Larson Art
Gallery at the University of Minnesota.
