The Koehnline Museum of Art at Oakton Community College
invites female artists to submit work for a juried exhibition scheduled
to run Tuesday, Oct. 28 through Friday, Nov. 7, 2008. Entry is free.
The deadline for entries is Friday, Aug. 15.
Feminist Ecology: Women and the Earth is an exhibition designed
to feature works of art that embody the title themes as they relate
to the female experience. The exhibition is sponsored by the Women’s
and Gender Studies Program at Oakton, in cooperation with the museum.
Artists may submit only one work for consideration. Works must be
submitted on compact disc as JPEG images with a resolution of at least
300 ppi. The disc must be labeled with the artist’s name, title
of the work, and medium. The disc also should contain a Word file
with a one-paragraph description of the work and a one-paragraph artist
biography or statement.
