Open auditions for Oakton Community College's production of "Art" are scheduled at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21, and Wednesday, Jan. 22, in Studio One at the Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road.Winner of the 1998 Tony Award for best play, Yasmina Reza's "Art" explores the relationship of three friends living in Paris after one of them buys a very expensive all-white painting by a famous artist. The play features a cast of three males age 29 to 45. The director, however, may be convinced to change one of the roles to female. Auditions will consist of a two-minute prepared monologue; there will be a few monologues on hand. Script readings and improvisations will be required at callbacks.
"Art" will be presented at 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 28 and March 7; 8 p.m., Saturday, March 1 and 8; and 2 p.m., Sunday, March 2 and 9. For more information, call Karol Verson at 847-635-2185.
