Oakton Travels to the 'Land Down Under'

Experience the world's largest island, Australia, on an educational tour offered through Oakton Community College's travel/study program. The final 2005 trip is scheduled for Oct. 2 - 19. Trips for 2006 also are available for booking.

Flora and fauna of Australia's "Red Center" can be seen during the first days of this exciting expedition. Travelers will get the chance to experience the culture of the Aboriginal people of the Outback. Visitors also will travel to Melbourne, to learn how commerce and gold have made this city a banking and financial hub. This two-week trip concludes with intimate dinner with the "Aussies," as travelers learn how Europeans originally settled "down under."

Other trip highlights include visiting the Sydney Opera House, the Rainforest Habitat Centre, Rialto Tower's Observation Deck, Uluru, the world's largest monolith; and a trip along the Sky Rail Rainforest Cableway.
