A
series of management and marketing courses geared to business professionals
is available this spring at Oakton Community College. Classes meet
evenings and weekends and may be applied to a degree or certificate
at Oakton.
Fundamentals of Supervision (MGT 101-050) examines
the responsibilities and techniques related to managing employees.
Seven-week course meets Thursday, 6 -10:15 p.m., starting Jan. 24,
at Oakton's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road.
Introduction to Transportation, Warehousing, and Logistics
(MGT 156-050) covers business logistics concepts, including
transportation, inventory, packaging and customer service. Six-week
course meets Monday, 6:30 - 10:15 p.m., starting March 17, at Oakton's
Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave.
Advanced
Public Relations and Special Events (MKT 244-050) focuses
on the expanding role of today's public relations professional. Eight-week
course meets Tuesday, 6 - 10 p.m., starting March 18, at Oakton's
Des Plaines campus.
Supervisory
Development (MGT 140-050) focuses on the training and development
of supervisors. Eight-week course meets Thursday, 6 - 10:15 p.m.,
starting March 20, at Oakton's Des Plaines campus.
Other
management and marketing classes include: Principles of Management
(MGT 121-050), Crisis and Issue Management (MKT 253-050), Conflict
Management (MGT 222-050), and Principles of Professional Selling (MKT
161-050).
