The "habit forming" comedy, Late Nite Catechism,
will be presented Saturday, May 6, in a benefit for the Educational
Foundation at Oakton Community College. The 8 p.m. curtain at Oakton's
Performing Arts Center, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines, will be preceded
by a 7 p.m. wine reception featuring hors d'oeuvres and desserts.
Created
in 1993 by Vicki Quade and Maripat Donovan, Late Nite Catechism
takes a retrospective look at growing up Catholic in Chicago. Regardless
of religious persuasion, each audience member becomes a "student"
in Sister's hilarious adult catechism class, a reminder of meatless
Fridays, the Latin Mass, and of course, a ruler across the knuckles.
Tickets
to this special fundraiser are $60, with proceeds supporting scholarships,
innovative programs, and other projects that promote Oakton's academic
mission. The event is funded in part by gifts from CHASE, Horowitz
and Associates, Inc., and Wheels, Inc.
