Travel
to Confucian China on a two-week travel/study tour sponsored by Oakton
Community College. Three departure dates are available in 2006: April
8, July 8, and Sept. 16.
Start
in Beijing with a walk along the Great Wall and a visit to the Forbidden
City. Journey to Xi'an, home of 6,000 life-size terra cotta guards
that protect the burial site of China's unifying emperor, Qin Shi
Huang. Travel to Qufu, birthplace of Confucius, and tour the Temple
of Confucius. Cruise the Grand Canal and learn ancient secrets at
the Silk Factory and Embroidery Institute. Finally, stop in Shanghai
and visit the Temple of the Jade Buddha and the Shanghai Museum of
Art and History. A Yangtze River cruise is available at additional
cost.
Oakton
offers two additional China tours; one tour highlights life along
China's Yangtze River, and the other concentrates on the famed Silk
Road. For additional information on all three trips, including costs
