"College 101" Aims for Academic Success
New Section Opens for Returning Adult Students

Increase your chances for academic success by enrolling in the College Success Seminar (COL 101), one of a series of courses offered by Oakton Community College's Instructional Support Services.

Known informally as "College 101," the three-credit-hour course covers a variety of topics, including study strategies, college and career goals, and computer literacy. Day and evening sections are offered at the Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road, and at the Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie. A complete list of available classes can be viewed at www.oakton.edu.

A new section, COL 101 0W1, has been designed for students age 25 and older to address issues common to adults returning to school, including balancing studies, work and home; linking education to employability; and refreshing study and test-taking skills. This section also provides one-stop service to adult students by including assessment testing and advising. The 11-week class meets from 9 to 11:50 a.m. on Saturdays, beginning Sept. 14, at the Des Plaines campus.
