"Stand
Up for Peace," a comedy benefit for Hands of Peace, a unique interfaith
program designed to foster long-term peaceful coexistence among Israelis,
Palestinians, and Americans, will be held Saturday, Feb. 9, at Oakton
Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.
In
their show, "Stand Up for Peace: The Two-Comedian Solution to Middle
East Peace," Scott Blakeman and Dan Obeidallah, Jewish- and Arab-American
comedians, respectively, bring people of all backgrounds together
to laugh and to engage in dialog about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Hands of Peace allows teens whose lives are directly impacted by the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict to meet each other on neutral ground,
share life stories, learn about non-violent conflict resolution and
recognize their common humanity.
Tickets
for this benefit performance are $60 for adults and $30 for students.
