Talented
singer-songwriter Ralph Covert hits the stage Saturday, Feb.
19, for two unique concerts at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf
Road, Des Plaines.
At
4 p.m., Covert performs solo, showcasing songs from his popular children's
albums including, The Amazing Adventures of Kid Astro, At
the Bottom of the Sea, Peggy's Pie Parlor, and Happy
Lemons. In 2001, Covert released his first children's album, Ralph's
World, which Billboard magazine called "the best children's
album of this year or any year."
At
8 p.m., Covert brings his legendary Chicago rock band, The Bad
Examples, to the Oakton stage. The band's hit song, "Not Dead
Yet," has been featured on the popular HBO series, Six Feet Under.
Tickets
for Covert's first show are $10 for children (age 10 and under), $15
for adults, and $7 for groups. Tickets for The Bad Examples are $12
for general admission, $11 in advance, and $10 for students and seniors.
