Gerald
Cortesi, a part-time professor of real estate at Oakton Community
College since 1996, has been named the 2005 Illinois Real Estate Educator
of the Year. The award is presented by the Association of Illinois
Real Estate Educators, to honor an educator who exhibits outstanding
contributions to real estate education in Illinois.
"Gerald
is a true professional and well deserving of this award," says Wayne
Paprocki, coordinator of the Real Estate Institute at Oakton. "He
is the author of a textbook that is used by students nationwide. We
are very fortunate to have a person of his caliber at Oakton."
With
20 adjunct faculty members, Oakton's Real Estate Institute is the
largest community college real estate program in Illinois. The Institute
offers approved licensing courses, seminars, placement services, salesperson
and broker licensing exam information, tutoring, accelerated courses,
extensive library facilities, audiovisuals, and continuing education
courses.
