Costanza Promoted to New Executive Role at Oakton

Carl Costanza, 54, director of facilities at Oakton Community College since 1998, is named executive director of campus facilities and operations, effective immediately, President Margaret Lee announced. Costanza's primary office moves from Des Plaines to the Ray Hartstein Campus in Skokie, where he will identify and respond to internal operating problems identified by students, faculty, staff, and administrators.

"As the chief administrative officer in Skokie, Carl will coordinate requests related to the use of Oakton's facilities by outside organizations and College departments," said Lee. "He will have responsibility and authority to respond to the diverse concerns that arise daily."

Costanza joined Oakton in 1981, originally serving as director of campus support services at the Skokie campus. In 1983, he earned his master's degree from the University of Illinois-Chicago, and was named director of business services at the Des Plaines campus. Costanza and his wife Debbie live in Park Ridge with their three children.

President Lee's announcement follows several months of internal study related to the organizational structure of the Ray Hartstein Campus. College-wide discussions focused on the most valuable and vital elements at the Skokie campus, as well as necessary improvements.
