Enjoy a Wildlife Adventure in Costa Rica

Discover the exotic beauty of Costa Rica, a country of lush rainforests, tropical beaches, and abundant wildlife, in a tour offered by the Oakton Community College travel/study program. Four tours are scheduled in 2003: Feb. 7 - 18, March 14 - 25, and April 4 - 15.

Costa Rica's natural riches provide the backdrop for an exciting adventure to its major landmarks. Travel to the top of a rainforest, where animals and hanging gardens of plants are hidden among the tall tropical trees. Visit the peak of Poas Volcano, an 8,900-foot active cinder cone with one of the largest craters in the world. Take a "walk in the clouds" at the Monteverde Cloud Forest, a unique sub-tropical environment and haven for birds and other wildlife.

Other highlights include visits to the site of the Arenal Volcano and to the Palo Verde National Park, noted for its white-faced monkeys and great variety of birds.

Throughout the trip participants will sample native dishes at specially arranged meals and learn about the everyday lives and customs of the local people. For more information, including complete itineraries and prices, call Bea Cornelissen at 847-635-1812.
