Open Call for 'Crossing Delancey' at Oakton Community College


Open auditions for the Performing Arts at Oakton production of "Crossing Delancey" are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, and Wednesday, March 26, in Studio One at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.

This wildly popular romantic comedy explores the clash between modern and traditional Jewish life. The story focuses on Isabel, an attractive and single woman working in a bookshop, who surrenders to the intelligence and charm of an unlikely suitor. The play features a cast of two mature females, one young female, and two young males. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Calls backs are scheduled for Thursday, March 27.

"Crossing Delancey" will be presented at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 9, and 16, and Saturday, May 10 and 17; and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 4 and 11.
