Oakton's Desi Dance Club Presents Talent Show
The Desi Dance Club at Oakton celebrates the music, dance, fashion, and fine art of India in “Show Me Your Jalwa,” a live variety and talent show, 7 – 10 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 20, at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.
General admission tickets are $7 and parking is free.
Professional dancers from Chicago’s Natraj Dance Academy and Arya International Dance Academy join singers and other student performers in this multicultural extravaganza. Dozens of performers will showcase contemporary Indian entertainment.
A portion of the proceeds from this performance benefits Apna Ghar, a domestic violence shelter that primarily serves Asian women and children. Apna Ghar takes its name from the Hindi-Urdu phrase meaning “our home.”
