Oakton Names New Executive Director of College Advancement

Carlee R. Drummer is the new executive director of college advancement, a newly-created position at Oakton Community College, officials announced.

Drummer, who joined the Oakton staff in November 2001 as Director of College Relations and Marketing, now takes on the added responsibility of overseeing the Oakton Community College Educational Foundation. The promotion and title change was announced February 22 at the regular monthly meeting of the Oakton Board of Trustees.

Prior to her appointment at Oakton, Drummer was a senior vice president at Lipman Hearne, a Chicago-based marketing and communications firm, and associate vice president for communications at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Drummer relocated to Chicago from New York City where she was director of communications for The New York Public Library and director of public relations for Baruch College/The City University of New York.

Drummer holds a master's degree and Ph.D. in English from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She earned her bachelor's degree in English from Wittenberg University in Ohio.
