Explore
the rich culture and natural treasures of Ecuador through a travel/study
program sponsored by Oakton Community College. Trips in 2008 depart
in July and October.
Begin in the 450-year-old capital city of Quito and experience Jacchigua,
the Ecuadorian folklore ballet. Visit Oswaldo Guayasamin's gallery
of contemporary paintings, and take a day trip to Calderon, home of
native bread dolls. Enjoy a seven-day Galapagos Islands cruise that
includes outdoor adventure at the Charles Darwin Research Station
and Pinnacle Rock.
Participants
for this physically-demanding trip should be in good health. An optional
week-long extension to Peru's Machu Picchu is offered at an additional
cost.
