Registration Opens for Oakton's Emeritus Program


Register now for fall 2002 classes offered by Oakton Community College's Emeritus program. Designed for students age 50 and over, the program features lectures, seminars, tours, and credit and noncredit courses about diverse and fascinating topics.

New this year — and of special interest to older students — are The History of the Islamic Middle East in Modern Times (HIS 226), Southern Writers: The Christ-Haunted Landscape (EGL 290), Background of September 11, 2001 (HIS 290), and Opera: "Don Giovanni," "La Traviata," and "La Boheme" (HUM 290).

Also scheduled this fall are four popular Emeritus series: Passport to the World, a program about foreign relations; Passages Seminar, a lecture series about historical and contemporary topics; People and Places, profiles of different cultures; and Celebrating the Arts in Chicago, tours to local cultural events and attractions.
