business owners and those thinking of starting a small business are
encouraged to enroll in a new Entrepreneur Series available through
Oakton Community College.
Small
Business Accounting Procedures (ACC 100-050) introduces students
to accounting concepts and procedures. Sixteen-week course meets Monday,
6:30 - 9:20 p.m., starting Jan. 14, at Oakton's Des Plaines campus,
1600 E. Golf Road.
Small
Business Management (MGT 160-050) guides students through
the development of a business plan while providing suggestions about
financing. Eight-week course meets Tuesday, 6:30 - 10:15 p.m., starting
Jan. 15, at the Des Plaines campus.
Principles
of Professional Selling (MKT 161-050) helps develop basic
selling skills. Seven-week course meets Thursday, 6:30 - 10:15 pm.,
starting Jan. 17, at Oakton's Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave.
Direct
Response Marketing (MKT 239-050) shows how direct response
strategies can increase sales. Students also will have the chance
to network with other small business owners. Seven-week course meets
Monday, 6 - 10 p.m., starting March 24, at the Des Plaines campus.
