Experience
the history and heritage of Berlin, Prague, Krakow, and Budapest on
a two-week study/travel tour sponsored by Oakton Community College.
One scheduled trip remains in 2004, Sept. 29 - Oct. 14; three additional
trips are planned in 2005: May 18 - June 2, July 13 - 28, and Sept.
28 - Oct. 13.
Start
in Berlin and visit the newly restored Reichstag and former "Checkpoint
Charlie." See the remains of the Berlin Wall and enjoy lectures about
Germany's political history to learn how two countries merged into
one. In Prague, visit the exquisitely carved Loreto Convent, walk
across the famous Charles Bridge, and take a brewery tour.
Head
to Krakow and enjoy a Chopin recital and the foods of Poland. Tour
St. Catherine's Church, featured in Schindler's List, visit
the Polish National Gallery, and dine in a historic Krakow restaurant.
Finally, travel to Budapest, one of Europe's most animated cities.
Cruise the Danube, visit the Fisherman's Bastion, and enjoy a luncheon
with local Hungarians.
