Oakton Community College will be accepting donations for its annual Holiday Food Drive from Nov. 26-Dec. 18. All donations will benefit district food pantries in Evanston, Maine, Niles, Northfield and New Trier Townships.
Canned and dry goods can be dropped off inside the main entrances to the College near parking lots B, C and D at the Des Plaines Campus, 1600 East Golf Road, Mondays through Thursday from 9 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., and Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.; donations will also be accepted at the Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave. in Skokie, at collection tables inside the main lobby, Mondays through Thursday from 9 a.m.- 7:30 p.m., and Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The following are some suggested food items for donation: dry pasta, stuffing mix, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, canned vegetables, canned fruit, tuna, macaroni and cheese, cake and pancake mix, cereal, coffee, toilet paper, rice, crackers, and canned spaghetti sauce.
The annual Holiday Food Drive is sponsored by the Oakton Board of Student Affairs and the Student Leaders group at the Ray Hartstein Campus. For more information call (847) 635-1699.
