Manuel
Scott, whose story is featured in the 2007 film, Freedom Writers,
brings his message of sacrifice, hope and love to Oakton Community
College, 1600 E. Golf Road, at 2 p.m., Feb. 21. This lecture is free

and dedication, he went on to earn degrees from the University of
California at Berkley and Trinity International University.
Today,
Manuel travels the world speaking at colleges, high schools, and religious
institutions inspiring others via his own life experiences. He is
a contributor to The Freedom Writers Diary: How a Teacher and
150 Teens Used Writing to Change Themselves and the World Around Them.
The book is comprised of essays by students from Long Beach, California,
who wrote about the troubles of their past, present and future.
