Oakton
Community College will host "Global Legacies of Non-Violence:
From Mahatma Gandhi to Martin Luther King, Jr.," April 17
and 18 at its Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave. The two-day academic
conference is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
The
keynote presentation, which is free and open to the public, is by
Dr. Clayborne Carson, 6 - 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 17. Carson is
the director of the Martin Luther King, Jr., Research and Education
Institute at Stanford University. His previous appearances include
Good Morning America, NBC Nightly News, and CBS
Evening News.
