Earn Your GED Certificate
Test Preparation Courses Begin in September

It's never too late to earn your high school diploma. Alliance for Lifelong Learning (ALL), the continuing education program partnered by Oakton Community College and area high schools, has two, low-cost ways to help you achieve your goals.

Evening High School is open to Maine and Niles Township residents, age 16 and above. Classes meet two times per week, 6 - 10 p.m., on Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays, at Maine South High School, 1111 S. Dee Road, Park Ridge. For more information, call (847) 825-7719. Glenbrook district residents should contact Steven Von Boeckman, principal of the Evening High School, at (847) 998-6100, Ext. 418.

GED Preparation Classes prepare students, age 19 and above, to pass the General Educational Development (GED) Test. The GED is a credential accepted by most employers and schools as equivalent to a high school diploma. The test covers five subject areas and is administered at Oakton's Des Plaines campus by the Cook County GED Testing Service.

A variety of test preparation classes begin in late September. In addition to the pre-GED classes in English, reading, and math skills, ALL offers GED-level review classes in essay writing, reading, math, science, social studies, English, Spanish, and the U.S. Constitution.

Those who wish to enroll in GED test preparation classes must attend one of these free sessions for placement testing, counseling, and registration:
