Tennessee
Williams' The Glass Menagerie will be presented by the Performing
Arts at Oakton, April 10 - 13 and April 17 - 20, at Oakton Community
College's Studio One, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.
This
Depression-era play centers on the Wingfields, a family drowning in
dysfunction and failed expectations. Seething with themes of ambition
and escape, this claustrophobic narrative serves as a haunting eulogy
for the American Dream.
A
$5 preview will be held 8 p.m., Thursday, April 10. Regular performances
of The Glass Menagerie are 8 p.m., Fridays, April 11 and
18; 8 p.m., Saturdays, April 12 and 19; 2 p.m., Sundays, April 13
and 20; and 8 p.m., Thursday, April 17.
Tickets
are $10; $8 for students and seniors; and $6 for groups of 15 or more.
