Tour
the temples of ancient gods on a travel/study tour of Greece sponsored
by Oakton Community College. Four trips are scheduled for 2004: May
6 - 17, June 24 - July 5, Sept. 2 -13, and Oct. 7 - 18.
Begin
in Athens with a visit to the famed Acropolis and the Parthenon. Continue
through Kalambaka and the monasteries in the surrounding mountains.
Next, stop in Delphi to view the Archaeological Museum, home of the
Antinoos and the Naxian Sphinx. Travel on to Olympia and explore the
remains of the Temple of Zeus and the Temple of Hera. See the world
famous "Hermes" by Praxiteles, and walk the Stadium of the original
Olympics. Return to Athens for visits to the Temple of Olympian Zeus,
Hadrian's Arch, and the Temple of Theseus.
