A series of “green bag” seminars on topics
related to recycling and the environment are being offered at both
campuses of Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines
and 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie.
Seminars in November and December include:
Food Co-ops: Green Groceries and Green Living, 12:30
– 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 12, Des Plaines campus, Room 1625.
Are food cooperatives good for the environment? Join members of a
local food co-op to learn about organic produce and other products.
Living Green: Taking the Stress out of the Holiday Season,
12:30 – 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 3, Skokie campus, Room P103;
session is repeated 12:30 – 1:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 8, Des Plainescampus,
Room 1610. For many, the holidays are consumed by activity –
working, shopping, cooking, and attending too many parties. Learn
some “green” stress relief tips that can keep you in a
fun holiday groove.
