"Woody" Hansmann, a resident of Northbrook and student at Oakton
Community College, is one of 15 winners in a nationwide Microsoft
programming contest. Hansmann's winning entry is a mobile device version
of the popular strategy game, Master Mind, which was first introduced
in the early 1970s.
Microsoft
received an estimated 300 entries to its "Will Code for Device" contest,
which called for submissions of innovative code targeting the Compact
Framework using Visual Studio .NET 2003. Hansmann, 69, a returning
student with many years of programming experience, recently completed
a three-course retraining sequence in Visual Basic Programming at
Oakton.
All
winners received a Windows Mobile device from Microsoft, which also
is making the winning codes available for download via the Internet.
