The Task Force on a Public Agenda for Illinois Higher
Education will hold two forums for the Northeast Region on Thursday,
June 19, at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Rd., Des Plaines.
Workforce in the 21st Century will be discussed in the morning
session, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., convened by State Rep. Elaine Nekritz
(D-Northbrook). P-20 Education Pipeline for the 21st Century
is the focus of the afternoon session, 1:30 – 3 p.m. Community
members are invited to join with leaders from business, government,
and education to express their priorities and goals.
Comments on educational and workforce needs, as well as feedback on
existing higher education policies in Illinois, are vital to the proper
establishment of state policies and resources and creating a public
agenda that is reflective of individual communities.
These forums are conducted through the National Center for Higher
Education Management Systems (NCHEMS), a nonprofit research and public
policy center. While the meeting is open, participants are encouraged
to RSVP via e-mail to publicagenda@ibhe.org.
