Start Your Next Home Project With an Alliance for Lifelong Learning Class

Begin your home improvement or decorating project by enrolling in a course offered by Oakton's Alliance for Lifelong Learning.

• Kitchen Remodeling (TEC E88-01, Touch-Tone 05184) takes you through the paces of the remodeling process from start to finish. Under the guidance of an experienced professional, you'll learn valuable tips and how to estimate expenses.
  7-10 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 30
  Niles West High School, 5701 W. Oakton, Skokie
  Course fee: $19

• Feng Shui (PSY B85-01, Touch-Tone 03018) explores the ancient Chinese study of the natural environment. Learn how to apply powerful techniques to transform the energy in your home, office and life. Four-week class!
  7-9:30 p.m., Thursdays, beginning Oct. 4
  Glenbrook North High School, 2300 Shermer, Northbrook
  Course fee: $73

• The No-Work Organic Garden (ORN E97-01, Touch-Tone 03057) explores ways to garden organically with soil aeration, composting, deep watering and weed suppression. On-site visits and design assistance are included. Three-week class!
  6:30-9:30 p.m., Wednesdays, beginning Oct. 3

  Course fee: $59

Those who have registered for Oakton or ALL classes within the last five years and have a Social Security number on file may register by using the Touch-Tone system at (847) 635-1616. Registrations are also accepted by fax at (847) 635-1448 and in person in Room 1420 at the Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Rd., and Room A120 at the Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie. Touch-Tone and fax registrations require payment using a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover).
