Explore the many artistic, historical and musical wonders of Italy through Oakton Community College’s travel/study program. Three trips are scheduled in 2001: April 21-May 5, July 14-28 and Oct. 13-27 in 2001.

View the artistic treasures of Florence, the city of the Renaissance. In Rome, visit the Colosseum and other monuments that reflect the life of an ancient civilization. Spend a day visiting Vatican City and enjoying its spectacular art, including works by Botticelli and Michelangelo.

Experience the splendor and charm of Venice with visits to St. Mark’s Square and Basilica. Stroll through Siena with its narrow, Gothic streets lined with palaces and patrician mansions. In Assisi, the birthplace of St. Francis, marvel at the beauty of the Basilica of Santa Moria Degli Angeli, built in the 16th century.

Throughout your journey, you’ll sample native dishes at specially arranged meals. A visit to a private home will give you a glimpse into the everyday lives and customs of the people.
