Experience history, culture, and art on a two-week travel/study tour of Italy offered through Oakton Community College. Trips in 2009 are scheduled to depart in April, July, and October.
Experience the romance of gliding through the canals of Venice in a gondola. Marvel at the breathtaking countryside of Tuscany. In Florence, visit the Academia, home of Michelangelo’s David, and the Uffizi Gallery, which is filled with works by Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Raffaello, and Botticelli. The tour concludes in Rome, with visits to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, the Colosseum, and catacombs along Old Appian Way.
Along the journey, savor Italian culture through cuisine, art, and personal interaction. Lower cost versions of this learning vacation are available for the budget-minded traveler. Alternative trips include more modest accommodations and meal packages.
