Explore the artistic and historical wonders of Italy during a two-week tour sponsored by Oakton Community College's travel/study program. Trips are scheduled Oct. 26 - Nov. 9, 2002; and April 26 - May 10, July 12 - 26, and Oct. 25 - Nov. 8, 2003.On this unforgettable journey, you'll visit many beautiful cities and villages, including Milan, Verona, Venice, Florence, Siena, Assisi, and Rome. Along the way, you'll see some of the world's most famous masterpieces, including da Vinci's Last Supper and Michaelangelo's David, and works by Botticelli, Signorelli, Perugino, and others at the magnificent Sistine Chapel.
Architectural highlights of the tour include the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Colosseum in Rome, the canals of Venice, and the countless cathedrals that give testament of the enduring strength and influence of Romanesque architecture.
Throughout your adventure, you'll sample native dishes at specially arranged meals. A visit to a private home will give you a glimpse into the everyday lives and customs of the people.
