Visit historic Jordan on a travel/study tour offered
by Oakton Community College. The last trip for 2008 departs in November.
Trips in 2009 also are available in March, June, and November.
Begin your journey with a tour of the capital city of Amman, one of
the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, and meet with
gracious Jordanians at a special luncheon. Visit the ecological wonder
of Wadi Rum, the stunning desert landscape where Lawrence of Arabia
was filmed. Head to Mount Nebo, one of the most revered holy sites
where Moses is presumed buried. View the rock-carved city of Petra,
which boasts more than 800 monuments including buildings, tombs, baths,
funerary halls, and temples. Finally, travel to the Dead Sea, the
lowest point on Earth and home to the world’s richest source
of natural salts.
